You know when your toes start to ache after fifteen minutes in regular climbing shoes. You're forced to take them off between each route, jump around in your socks and wait for blood circulation to return. Then you have to squeeze your feet back into the slightly too-tight shoes for the next attempt. But why should climbing have to be torture for your feet? Saltic Eliot is made for those who love climbing but hate the pain that comes with it. With a wide toe box that actually gives your toes room to spread out, you get comfort without sacrificing function. You can wear the shoes the entire session, walk comfortably between the walls and focus on the movement instead of the pain.
Handmade in Zlín – in the classic Baťa factories where shoe tradition and precision craftsmanship have existed for generations. Saltic has been making climbing shoes since 1989 and knows exactly what it takes to create a shoe that can handle the demands of the wall. The synthetic microfiber upper is both strong and flexible, it molds to your foot without giving in where it doesn’t need to. It’s the same material used in other professional climbing shoes, tested through tens of thousands of climbs. The Extasy® rubber sole is the result of years of experimentation and development – a high-friction rubber compound exclusive to Saltic that gives you that crucial grip on both smearing and small edges. The two-piece sole is ingenious: flexible enough for natural foot movement when walking but with enough support for precision when climbing.
The Saltic Eliot has been tested by professional climbers, including Czech competitive climber Tereza Kotlínová. Their verdict? Perfect for routes up to UIAA grade 5, excellent for bouldering on easier problems, and really good on sandstone where the large contact surface really comes into its own. For beginners developing their technique, the wide toe box gives them the confidence to focus on movement rather than balance. For experienced climbers who enjoy longer sessions or via ferratas, they are ideal – you can wear them all day without needing an extra pair of shoes to change.
The most revolutionary thing about the Saltic Eliot is not just that they are comfortable – it’s that they are built to last. When the sole starts to show signs of wear, you simply send them back to Saltic and they will replace the sole for you. It costs a fraction of the price of new shoes and you get to keep the upper that has already formed perfectly to your foot. On average, Saltic shoes with replaceable soles last 3-4 times longer than regular climbing shoes from other manufacturers. This means less resource consumption and more money left in your wallet for climbing trips.

Skor för riktiga fötter
Classic shoes:
In classic shoes, the toes are squeezed together, the foot is placed in an unnatural position and during long walks we can feel discomfort and a great relief when we get home and have to take off our shoes. Long-term use of such shoes can lead to foot problems such as Hallux valgus and Morton's syndrome.
Barefoot shoes:
In barefoot shoes, there must be enough space for the entire foot to maintain its natural shape. This provides maximum comfort and the toes can be spread out as needed, which increases walking stability. Other important aspects are maximum flexibility and a thin sole that has zero drop.
Why are barefoot shoes good?
Regular shoes are often too tight, which has squeezed your toes together for years. You may develop hallux valgus, which requires surgery, or perhaps a heel spur that takes months to heal.
Tight shoes
Friska fötter
Your toes need their space.
Your toes are probably squeezed into regular shoes like most people. Maybe you have pain in your feet or toes. Most often it is the big toe that takes the most damage. If you walk for too long, you can develop Hallux Valgus which becomes so bad that surgery is required.
With barefoot shoes, you give your toes space and allow your feet to strengthen. Many people experience a dramatic difference in just a couple of weeks.
