Saltic Fura in natural leather is the minimalist shoe that works everywhere – from the office to a walk in the forest, from the gym to a Friday night out. Handmade in the Czech Republic with 30 years of experience, wide toe box and Cross sole that provides a balance between grip and durability.

When you buy shoes made of sanded full-grain leather, you buy something that gets better with time, not worse. The first few days Saltic Fura feels new and fresh. After a month, the leather has started to soften and mold to the unique contours of your feet. After a year, you will see patina where you bend your foot the most, a slightly darker color where you gripped with your hand when you pulled on the shoes. After several years, you have a pair that is exactly shaped to your feet and that tells the story of where you have been. This is the opposite of shoes that look best on the first day. The leather breathes naturally so your feet stay fresh even on long days. When it rains, it dries relatively quickly compared to synthetic materials. Lubricate the leather from time to time with regular shoe wax and it will last for many years.

Most shoes are built from a rigid shell that is then filled with lining that your foot is supposed to press into. Saltic does the opposite with their ponožka technology – they first sew a soft “sock” of leather and then have the sole applied. When you put on Fura for the first time, you feel the difference immediately. No stiffness, no pressure points, just a soft envelope that holds your foot securely without forcing it into a shape it doesn’t want. The Cambrelle lining on the inside is not just soft – it’s a technical material with bi-component fibers that transports moisture away from the foot while resisting abrasion. After a full day at the office, your feet still feel fresh. Many people can actually go without socks in Fura thanks to this lining, although it’s not as common in the leather version as in the vegan one.

Saltic makes both climbing shoes and barefoot shoes. For climbing shoes, they use ExtasyFix® – an extremely sticky rubber compound with maximum grip but which wears out quickly on hard surfaces. For their Fura leather model, they have instead chosen the 3 mm Cross sole. It is thinner than most barefoot soles but thicker than climbing soles, and the rubber compound is harder than climbing rubber, which means it lasts significantly longer. On wet asphalt, it provides enough grip to make you feel safe. On forest paths, you can clearly feel the surface through the thin sole. On gym floors, you get ground feel for better balance during strength exercises. And most importantly – it actually lasts a long time even if you walk a lot on hard asphalt. When the sole finally wears out, you send the shoes back to Saltic, who will replace the sole, so you never have to throw away the leather upper that now fits perfectly.

There are no unnecessary details on Fura. No flashy logos, no strange color combinations, no extra padding or support. Just pure leather, lacing, sole. You don't have to think about whether the shoes match your outfit of the day, they just do. You don't have to choose whether to take office shoes or training shoes, Fura is both. You don't need to have three pairs in the car for different activities, one pair is enough. Many who buy Fura find that they stop using their other shoes simply because their Fura works better in most situations. In the office, they look professional. In the gym, they give a sense of ground. In the forest, they can handle terrain. In the city, they look completely normal. It is this versatility that has made Fura Saltic's best-selling model over the years.

In Zlín, where Baťa once built his shoe empire, Saltic continues the tradition with modern technology. Each pair of Fura is hand-sewn by craftsmen who know what it takes to make shoes that last. The leather comes from European tanneries, the Cambrelle lining is made in Europe, the Cross sole is mixed and molded in Saltic's own factory. No outsourcing to low-wage countries, no mass production where speed takes precedence over quality. When you receive your pair of Fura, it comes with impregnating spray to protect the leather from moisture, plus a stylish bag to store them in.

Skor för riktiga fötter

Classic shoes:

In classic shoes, the toes are squeezed together, the foot is placed in an unnatural position and during long walks we can feel discomfort and a great relief when we get home and have to take off our shoes. Long-term use of such shoes can lead to foot problems such as Hallux valgus and Morton's syndrome.

Barefoot shoes:

In barefoot shoes, there must be enough space for the entire foot to maintain its natural shape. This provides maximum comfort and the toes can be spread out as needed, which increases walking stability. Other important aspects are maximum flexibility and a thin sole that has zero drop.

Why are barefoot shoes good?

Regular shoes are often too tight, which has squeezed your toes together for years. You may develop hallux valgus, which requires surgery, or perhaps a heel spur that takes months to heal.

Friska fötter

Your toes need their space.

Your toes are probably squeezed into regular shoes like most people. Maybe you have pain in your feet or toes. Most often it is the big toe that takes the most damage. If you walk for too long, you can develop Hallux Valgus which becomes so bad that surgery is required.

With barefoot shoes, you give your toes space and allow your feet to strengthen. Many people experience a dramatic difference in just a couple of weeks.
