Saltic Fura in soft suede is a premium shoe - versatile with a soft feel and excellent grip. ExtasyFix® sole from the climbing world, premium suede and rubber protection at the front. Handmade in the Czech Republic.

You've tried regular barefoot shoes and like the idea, but you want something more. Something softer on your foot, something with better grip, something that feels a little more well thought out. The Saltic Fura in suede has suede instead of smooth leather. Suede is a buffed leather with a soft, almost velvety surface. Suede is warmer on the foot than smooth leather, making these a better choice for cooler days. The material still breathes naturally but gives a cozier feel. Over time, the suede develops a beautiful, uneven patina where the color darkens where you touch the shoe the most. The small rubber protector at the front – which the Fura has – is not just for looks. It really absorbs when you bump into something, which means the leather itself lasts much longer.

Here comes the big difference from Fura Leather. Where the Leather version has a Cross sole, the Fura Suede has ExtasyFix® – the same patented climbing rubber compound used in Saltic's professional climbing shoes and in the vegan Fura variant. ExtasyFix® is softer, stickier and provides significantly better grip than Cross. On wet asphalt when you hurry across the street you notice the difference immediately – your foot is stuck instead of sliding. On the gym floor when weightlifting you get stability that makes you dare to lift heavier. On uneven terrain you still feel the surface through the 3.7 mm thin sole, but the grip allows you to move more safely. The downside is that this soft, high-friction rubber wears out faster if you only walk on hard asphalt every day. Saltic therefore recommends Fura Suede for varied use – gym, nature, shorter city walks – rather than for daily commuting on hard surfaces. But when the sole is worn out, you send the shoes back and get a new sole fitted.

Suede leather has properties that differ from smooth leather.

  • It's warmer – the piled surface traps air that insulates.
  • It's softer – it almost feels like fabric against the skin.
  • It's quieter – the shoe glides forward instead of clattering against the surface.

This makes the Fura Suede a better choice for early mornings when you don't want to wake anyone up, for environments where you want to move discreetly, or for cooler seasons when you appreciate a little extra warmth. The Cambrelle lining on the inside is the same as in other Fura models – a two-component material that transports moisture away from the foot. But the combination of warm suede and moisture-wicking lining means that your feet stay both dry and comfortable even on long days.

Just like all Saltic barefoot shoes, Fura Mocka is sewn using the ponožka technique – first a soft sock is sewn from leather, which is then applied with the sole. With the softness of the suede, this effect becomes even more pronounced. The shoe wraps the foot like a warm glove rather than pressing it into a shape. After a few days of use, the suede has formed itself to the unique shape of your foot contours, and the shoe feels like your own. There is no break-in period in the traditional sense – no hard edges to soften, no pressure points to give way. Just a gradual adaptation where the material molds to you. The wide toe box gives all toes room to spread out, which many people only notice when their feet no longer ache in the evening. The zero drop construction means that you stand and walk with a natural posture from the first day.

Suede leather requires a little more care than smooth leather – brush off dirt gently, regularly impregnate with suede spray, let dry naturally. If you do this, the material will last for many years and develop a beautiful patina. Each pair of Fura Suede comes with a stylish bag for storage.

Skor för riktiga fötter

Classic shoes:

In classic shoes, the toes are squeezed together, the foot is placed in an unnatural position and during long walks we can feel discomfort and a great relief when we get home and have to take off our shoes. Long-term use of such shoes can lead to foot problems such as Hallux valgus and Morton's syndrome.

Barefoot shoes:

In barefoot shoes, there must be enough space for the entire foot to maintain its natural shape. This provides maximum comfort and the toes can be spread out as needed, which increases walking stability. Other important aspects are maximum flexibility and a thin sole that has zero drop.

Why are barefoot shoes good?

Regular shoes are often too tight, which has squeezed your toes together for years. You may develop hallux valgus, which requires surgery, or perhaps a heel spur that takes months to heal.

Tight shoes

Friska fötter

Your toes need their space.

Your toes are probably squeezed into regular shoes like most people. Maybe you have pain in your feet or toes. Most often it is the big toe that takes the most damage. If you walk for too long, you can develop Hallux Valgus which becomes so bad that surgery is required.

With barefoot shoes, you give your toes space and allow your feet to strengthen. Many people experience a dramatic difference in just a couple of weeks.
